A student when asked why he studies will normally reply that he is studying so that later in life it will be easier for him to get a good job . What is the point of having a job ? To earn money . What is the point of earning money ? For satisfying our needs . What needs ? Food , clothing , shelter and so on . But do we realise the fact that the more we have the more we want ? What is the point of getting lots and lots of money ? ( more than what is necessary for a well to do lifestyle ) . The scriptures clearly state that love of money is the root of all evil , and also asks what profit does a man get if he gains the whole world but loses his own soul . I am not saying that there should be a limit to how much one should earn , but we should at the same time understand that the money we have is a gift from God and we should use it wisely on our genuine needs and not waste it on unnecessary worldly pleasures , but help people less fortunate than us , and we will get our just reward from the one who who knows even our thoughts and has the number of hairs on our head in his count . This is what will make our life living , the satisfaction of having done a good deed . Let us all try our very best to implement this in our daily life .
